Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EsportDNA collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use esportdna.com, our public esports services, EsportDNA Labs, tournament and registration experiences, newsletter and contact forms, and our connected messaging integrations.

Effective / last updated: October 1, 2026

1. Who this policy covers

EsportDNA (also referred to as “EsportDNA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the EsportDNA website and related esports services. This policy applies to information collected through esportdna.com and related EsportDNA experiences, including web forms, newsletter signup, player and tournament pages, Labs features, and our WhatsApp/Meta messaging integration.

This policy does not replace the privacy policies of third-party services that you may use through EsportDNA, including Meta/WhatsApp and Start.gg. Those services may process information under their own policies and terms.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Contact and partnership enquiries: company name, contact name, email address, and the message you submit.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: your email address.
  • WhatsApp conversations: message content and the information made available to EsportDNA by WhatsApp/Meta when you contact our business account.
  • Tournament or account actions: information needed to identify or verify your registration when you connect a third-party account such as Start.gg.

Competitive and public information

Our public player, tournament, and results features can display competitive information such as gamer tags, tournament placements, match results, characters, event information, and Start.gg profile identifiers or links. Much of this information is obtained from public competitive profiles or synchronized from Start.gg and is displayed for esports purposes.

Technical information

Like most web services, our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, request timestamps, security events, and error or performance metadata. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

3. How we use information

  • Provide and operate the EsportDNA website and services.
  • Respond to contact, sponsorship, partnership, and support enquiries.
  • Send newsletter or service updates when you subscribe.
  • Provide tournament registration and verification workflows.
  • Display and synchronize competitive esports results and player profiles.
  • Operate EsportDNA Labs and generate AI-assisted answers, coaching content, or analysis requested by an authenticated user.
  • Respond to messages received through our WhatsApp business account.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug failures, and improve reliability.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

4. AI and Gemini

Some EsportDNA features use the Google Gemini API. When you use an AI feature, the content needed to answer your request may be sent to Google through the Gemini API. We use the service to generate responses and analysis; we do not ask Gemini to make decisions about your eligibility, identity, or legal rights.

Our current WhatsApp AI flow sends the text of the message and relevant EsportDNA context to Gemini to generate a reply. The WhatsApp recipient phone number is used by our server to deliver the response through WhatsApp and is not intentionally included in the Gemini request.

Google's Gemini API terms and documentation govern Google's processing of content sent through the API. Data handling can vary by the Gemini service tier and features that EsportDNA enables, so users should also review Google's current Gemini API terms and privacy documentation.

Important: Please do not send passwords, payment card details, government identifiers, or other sensitive information to EsportDNA AI features unless we specifically request it for a documented purpose.

5. WhatsApp and Meta

When you contact EsportDNA through WhatsApp, Meta/WhatsApp processes the conversation and account information under its own terms and privacy documentation. EsportDNA receives the information required to receive and respond to the business conversation and may use the content to provide customer support or AI-assisted responses.

Our WhatsApp integration also receives technical messaging identifiers and status information required for webhook delivery and message handling. We keep webhook logs limited to operational metadata and do not intentionally log the full message text in our webhook runtime logs.

Business-initiated messaging, templates, account management, and WhatsApp platform processing are governed by Meta's applicable WhatsApp Business terms and documentation in addition to this policy.

6. Third-party services

EsportDNA relies on third-party infrastructure and services to operate the website and its features. Depending on the feature you use, information may be processed by:

  • Vercel: application hosting, deployment, and server infrastructure.
  • Neon / PostgreSQL: database storage for application data such as form submissions, newsletter subscriptions, and synchronized esports data.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery for contact/partnership notifications when configured.
  • Start.gg: tournament registration, connected identity, competitive profiles, and results synchronization.
  • Google Gemini API: AI processing for supported EsportDNA AI features.
  • Meta / WhatsApp: WhatsApp business messaging and related platform services.

These providers may process information in countries other than your own. Each provider is responsible for its own terms and privacy practices.

7. Cookies, sessions, and local storage

EsportDNA uses necessary browser and server mechanisms to keep the website functional. For example, authenticated Labs access uses a security session cookie. Some interactive features may also use browser-local storage for convenience. These mechanisms are used for functionality, security, and session management rather than for selling personal information.

Browser and infrastructure cookies or similar technologies may also be set by third-party services used to provide their functionality.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating the service, maintaining business records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal obligations.

Retention periods can differ by data type and third-party provider. Competitive records may remain available for historical esports reporting even when a person asks us to remove contact or account-related information, particularly where those records are public or derived from a third-party public competition service.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including requesting access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of information we hold about you.

To request deletion or ask a privacy question, visit our data deletion page or email dnaesports.gg@gmail.com. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited information where required by law or needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate business records.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and you should avoid sending sensitive credentials or payment information through public forms or chat.

11. International users

EsportDNA is operated from India, but our service providers may process information in other jurisdictions. By using the services, you understand that information may be transferred and processed outside your country, subject to the safeguards and laws applicable to the service providers involved.

12. Children's privacy

Our public esports content may reference players of different ages, but our general website is not designed as a child-directed service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of building commercial profiles. If a parent or guardian believes a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and address the request.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, integrations, or legal requirements change. The effective/updated date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are made.
